Lana Johnson

Beef Excellence Committee Scholarship

Lana Johnson’s journey in 4-H has been more than a series of projects, it has been a steady transformation in who she is as a leader, teammate, and citizen. While she began in livestock, the most meaningful growth she experienced came through the responsibilities she accepted and the people she learned to serve. She started by showing pigs and then expanding into cattle and horses.  Through these projects, she learned discipline, time management, and perseverance.  As a 6-year member of Severance 4-H Club, she has served as Secretary for two years before becoming President. Serving as Secretary required organization, responsibility, and clear communication.  As President, leading meetings has strengthened her public speaking skills and confidence in front of groups.  4-H has shaped her ability to lead with confidence, communicate clearly, and serve others with purpose.  Lana is majoring in ag business at Northeastern Junior College and plans to eventually take over the family cattle breeding operation.

Lana is the recipient of the Beef Excellence Scholarship.
