Brayden Carpio

Weld County 4-H Leaders Council High School Scholarship

Brayden Carpio began his 13 year 4-H career as a Cloverbud with Westward 4-H Club. His first project was a bucket calf, but over his 4-H career he has grown his personal dairy herd to 113 head of registered Holstein and Jersey cattle. He has participated in many different projects including shooting sports, model rocketry, woodworking, robotics and Citizen Washington Focus. He has utilized skills learned in all these projects including problem-solving, plan development, and how to try something new and see it through to completion. Serving as 4-H club Treasurer, Vice-President twice, and President for the last four years has improved his leadership skills by learning how to speak slowly and correctly in front of large groups of people and how to communicate with leaders and fellow officers to accomplish goals.  Brayden will be attending Eastern Wyoming College majoring in Ag Business.  His future career plans include working for a hay operation or a feedlot through college, and then possibly working on his family's dairy.

Brayden is the recipient of the Weld County 4-H Leaders Council High School Scholarship.
