Dorothy Martin Zabka Memorial Scholarship
Jessica is the daughter of Don and Lynn Bond of Kersey. She is a sophomore at Fort Hays State University in Kansas and her career goal is to be a large animal vet. She wants to be a vet for large animals because she cares about their well-being and the role they play in our lives. She believes these animals are crucial for agriculture and our environment. Jessica wants to help make sure they are healthy and well-cared for. Her goal is to connect veterinary science with sustainable farming, promoting the health of animals and the communities that depend on them. She has studied biology and veterinary medicine to learn about animal health. She has also worked in large animal clinics to get hands-on experience. These experiences confirmed her passion for this field.
Jessica was a 10-year member of Box Elder Ag 4H Club. Her 4H journey wasn't just about personal development; it was also a pathway to becoming an active and responsible citizen. Engaging in activities such as Operation Christmas Child, fundraisers, and silent auctions allowed her to witness firsthand the positive impact could be made in the community. Among the major accomplishments that stand out in her 4H career is the success of our fundraising efforts. Through innovative ideas and dedicated teamwork, they organized events that not only raised funds for their club's activities but also contributed significantly to local community projects. The lessons learned and the accomplishments achieved during her time in 4H have left an indelible mark on her personal growth, and she is grateful for the opportunities this organization provided for her to contribute positively to both her and her community.
Jessica is the recipient of the Dorothy Martin Zabka Memorial Scholarship.
