Weld County 4-H Foundation Scholarship

Brody is the son of Justin and Dayna White of Kersey.  He is a Senior at Platte Valley High School and is planning to attend South Dakota School of Mines studying to get a degree in electrical/mechanical engineering.  Brody’s plan is to continue his higher education at South Dakota School of Mines and obtain an electrical/mechanical engineering degree. He would like to then use his skills and agriculture background, to keep improving the way farmers and agricultural manufactures are able to do their jobs and continue to feed the world.  Growing up on his family’s farm Brody has always been interested in how the tractors and equipment worked. He was always tearing something apart to see how it worked, and most of the time getting it put back together in working order. That led him to his career path in mechanical engineering. Learning more about electrical stuff is just a bonus Brody would like to learn in college. He believes both degrees would help him gain him the ultimate career choice of working for CAT or John Deere as a mechanical engineer designing and upgrading equipment.

Brody is a 9-year member of the Box Elder Ag 4H Club.   He is currently the club treasurer and has served for 3 years as well as reporter. His involvement in 4H has built his understanding of hard work and dedication. Brody completed many projects at the county and state levels including model rocketry, breeding and market goats and sheep, shotgun, .22 and archery. As a 4H member he competed on the livestock and dairy judging teams. Being on these teams has helped him greatly improve his communication skills and leadership skills.

Brody is the recipient of the Weld County 4H Foundation Scholarship.
