Emily Rumsey

Ben Wilson Memorial Scholarship

Emily is the daughter of Tara and Justin Rumsey of Greeley.  She is a Junior at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, WY and is studying Rangeland Ecology and Watershed Management with a double minor in Soil Sciences and, Restoration and Reclamation to be able to preserve the rangelands and watersheds for years to come. She is hoping to work for a local conservation district to assist ranchers in preserving their private rangelands to be able to support herds both wild and domesticated.

Emily was a 14-year of the Blazing Clovers 4-H Club and is now a volunteer.  Participating in 4-H shaped her into the person she is today and heavily influenced her career path.  She learned to be hard working, to have great communication skills, responsibility, time management skills and to be community oriented, and know the importance of helping others.  4-H is an organization that she can see herself being a part of for the rest of her life.

Emily is the recipient of the Ben Wilson Memorial Scholarship.
